My husband and I have so many interests in common, so we spend a lot of our free time together. He doesn’t get into baking like I do, but I spend that time with my sisters. Likewise, I was not into clay pigeon shooting, and he spent time with his best friend doing that. Well, his best friend told us he is moving because of work, and I knew that would change how my husband viewed clay pigeon shooting. I decided to surprise him by finding out how to get some clay pigeon shooting instruction for myself so he did not have to lose that quality time doing something he really enjoyed with someone he likes to spend time with.
I had never even been with him when the two of them have been out shooting, so I was a complete novice. I am not the type to back down from anything though. I looked on the site of the place he goes to shoot, mainly just to see if they could point me in the right direction for shooting instruction. I had no idea that I was going to find information that showed me I could learn right there.
There are qualified instructors at Lady’s Wood, and I was able to read about the training process on the site. I actually started to get excited before I was even done reading about everything that I would learn. They take this teaching very seriously, and I was happy to know that I would be extremely comfortable handling a gun and understanding all of the safety rules before the actual clay pigeon shooting instruction began. To make a long story short, I went through the instruction, and my husband’s friend ended up moving away about six weeks later. Now, the two of us go shooting, and we are having the time of our lives!
